For several series, the Bake-Off has successfully used a combination of Quooker dedicated boiling water taps in the tent. This series, each work bench features a Quooker Fusion with Quooker’s patented COMBI system, which means that no other mixer taps are needed and the tent only needs a cold water supply in order to provide each contestant with instantly available hand hot, cold and 100°C boiling water, all from a single appliance.

As the episodes go by and contestants are eliminated, no hot feed would have to be reconfigured, the cold feed only being required to provide all three water temperatures. Quooker MD Stephen Johnson said,

We’re really looking forward to seeing the Fusions in the tent, knowing that they will be invaluable to the bakers as they compete against the clock as well as each other. Having instantly available boiling water really helps with washing beaters from mixers, cleaning balloon whisks and removing baked on food from baking tins – everything a keen baker might need, but is often very tricky to wash. With a Quooker it only takes a few seconds to get these vital implements ready to use again – which makes all the difference in any busy kitchen.

The Quooker Fusion is also essential for preparing fillings for keen bakers’ creations too, providing pans of boiling water to cook potatoes, stew fruit and even prepare the best royal icing. “Of course, if everything goes to plan and there’s time to spare, you can just make a perfect cuppa with the 100°C boiling water and relax for a few precious minutes,” adds Johnson.

The Fusion system retails from £1,150 or you can upgrade to the Fusion COMBI system from £1,450; available from www.quooker.co.uk
