Publishers and distributors in major European nations are being sought to help bring a newly licensed History of the UEFA European Football Championship to market early in 2016.

Canadian publisher Ruckus Books has created under a license of UEFA EURO 2016 a publication about the history of the competition ahead of next year’s tournament in France and is now seeking partners throughout Europe to work with them on the launch and marketing of the book country by country.

Since the first UEFA European Football Championship in 1960 in France, when the Soviet Union defeated Yugoslavia in the final, the tournament has provided many memorable moments for football fans across the continent. The 120 page book, which will measure 252mm x 263mm x 37mm, will document many of the tournament’s most iconic moments since the first event in 1960, including Greece’s shock 2004 victory in the final against hosts Portugal and Denmark’s equally surprising win at Euro 1992; Marco van Basten’s performance for the Netherlands in 1988, and Paul Gascoigne’s goal for England against Scotland at Wembley during Euro 96.

Although it is currently being shown using the standard UEFA EURO 2016 ball for its cover artwork, the finished book at launch will feature a 3D textured cover that shows the official tournament ball. The book will be affordably priced at around €25, which will make it accessible for most fans to acquire.

“We are very excited about the potential for this book,” explains Greg Sizelove. Publishing Director at Ruckus Books. “The production qualities and cover will make it a very desirable purchase and we anticipate it being of huge interest to football fans throughout Europe. We think it represents a positive commercial opportunity for publishing and distribution partners in each of the major European nations.

Ruckus Books, whose stated mission is to create book experiences that capture the reader’s imagination, has created a whole new market in 3D sensory books. The books it publishes tend to be eye-catching in shape as well as compelling in their subject matter. The company already has an impressive track record in publishing sports books, covering golf, hockey, football and basketball.
