In July 2020, we were appointed by the Association of Cycle Traders (ACT) to support the publicity for Local Bike Shop Day, an initiative geared towards highlighting the products and services offered by independent cycle shops.

We were tasked with placing coverage for the campaign in key cycle trade media, encouraging cycle shops to sign up to the day and creating buzz on social media, in the run up to the event and on the day itself.

Our team secured placed coverage in key titles such as BikeBiz and road.cc and endorsements from famous faces including Jeremy Vine, Sharron Davis, Gail Porter and Jacqui Oatley. Around 500,000 views of Local Bike Shop Day content were achieved across all social channels in the campaign’s final week, with posts on the LBSD Twitter account alone achieving over 100,000 impressions/views in the campaign’s final three days.

We also engaged with influential cycling bodies such as British Cycling, Cycling UK and the All Party Parliamentary Cycling Group, in addition to brands like Raleigh Bikes, all of which supported the campaign publicly.

In addition, the amount of cycle shops participating in the initiative reached a record high, with hundreds of retailers across the UK signing up to take part.
